Children & Young People Services

We have a range of projects for Children & Young People

Youth Offending Service

We have 5 staff within the YOS, 2 specialist substance misuse workers and 3 Resettlement & Aftercare Provision (RAP) workers. Between them they provide a range of Tier 2 services to young people involved with the YOS, who have substance misuse or related problems. During 2005/06, 90 young people have received interventions from the teams. They have also provided training for staff, volunteers and magistrates. The age range of the young people is 10-17 but the majority of those seen fall into the 15-17 age group.

Looked After Children

We provide a specialist service to young people in Local Authority care around substance misuse and related issues.

Tier 2 Children & Young People Services

We have specialist young people’s workers to provide a range of interventions to young people with drug or alcohol issues.

Our children & young people’s workers also deliver a wide range of prevention and education sessions in a variety of settings.

Childcare Workers

We have 3 childcare workers in the multi agency team, Families First, who provide a range of therapeutic interventions to children and young people whose parents/carers misuse substances. The project aims to limit the harm to children & young people that may happen because of their parents/carers misuse.
